Zoom Zoom?

So I test drove two cars today for shits & giggles, and one really didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. It started off in an Acura TSX, which I drove just for fun. I really prefer the TL, and will drive that soon enough also for fun. Anyhow, the transmission in the TSX was silly smooth; amazing to say the least. It had 5 gears utilizing the triptronic shifter, which is one additional gear than most.

The second car I drove was the Mazda 3, and I must say it surprised me a little bit. While its no TL, mazda seemed to have done a good job squeezing out power from the 2.0 4 cylinder engine. The cornering on it wasn't quite as good as I expected, and noticed some bad body roll when taking a turn at an underpass. Since its front wheel drive, I accelerated coming around the turn letting the front wheels to pull me around, well it worked but not quite to what I expected.

Personally, I don't see the car being worth as much as they are asking. It seems to be a popular car right now, and simple law of demand - if there is a high demand the price can increase some and people will continue to pay. The 3 seems to be a hot selling item right now, and they are making premium dollars off it.

The funniest part was the sales guy falling asleep in the back seat of the car while test-driving. The guy was personable and all, I even indulged some of his lies & rants that dealers will tell you to let them think that they are in fact hooking you up. It is after all a privilege that they are allowing you to purchase a car from them; right? I honestly don’t know how he expects to sell cars if he is falling asleep on the customers.
